Onyx’s debut album ‘Bacdafucup’ was released 27 years ago today

Bacdafucup was released on 30 March 1993 by cousins Sticky Fingaz and Fredro Starr, and partners Big DS and Sonny Seeza. Produced by Jam Master Jay, Chryskillz, and Kool Tee, Bacdafucup is easily one of the most significant rap releases of the early 90’s that contributed to putting Queens, NY on the map.

The debut album peaked at number 17 on the US Billboard 200 at the time of its release and became certified Platinum by the RIAA at the end of October 1993, just a little over seven months after its debut. It was also won Best Rap Album on 1994 Soul Train Music Awards.

The LP that delivered hit singles such as Throw Ya Gunz, Slam, and Shiftee, brought well-deserved fame to Onyx along with their trademark grimy voice, mad face, and bald heads.

Make sure to listen to this rap gem, this album is just getting better and better while always have something new to offer.
